Like A Wildfire

This past weekend, wildfires swept across the Texas Panhandle and people in parts of Amarillo and in several area towns were told to evacuate their homes. They didn't have time to pack a bag or call relatives. The fire was coming quickly. They had to get out right then. Several said they barely escaped through the dense smoke. Thank God that no one lost their life in the fires, but about 30 homes in Amarillo burned.

Even though there had been warnings all week about high winds and the fire danger, some people were still caught off guard and weren't ready to evacuate.

That's how it will be when Jesus returns. Even though the Bible gives us many signs about the End Times, many will be caught off guard on the day He comes to catch away those who have made Him lord of their lives.

We are living in an amazing time. Who would have thought that this generation would see so many Bible prophesies be fulfilled in our lifetime? It's exciting to watch the news and realize that what we are witnessing today was prophesied about in the Bible.

Prophesy teacher Jimmy Phillips, whom I was privileged to know when I lived in Amarillo, was on the radio last week talking about what's happening in the Middle East and how it relates to the last days. He says the stage is being set for the great war of Gog and Magog. He is convinced that we are on the brink of that war and the return of Christ.

So the question is when will this happen and are you ready? No one knows the day or the hour when Jesus will come, so we should live rapture ready.

The signs of the End Times are all around us. Even nonbelievers should be smart enough to see something big is about to happen in the world. If they're wise, they will get their houses in order, and we should all get ready to evacuate this world. Ready or not, Jesus is coming and He's not going to wait for us to pack a bag or get our lives in order.

Like a wildfire that breaks out suddenly, the day of the Lord's return will be just as sudden. Don't be caught off guard. Watch for Him. Be rapture ready.
