Straight Talk Part 2

Now that same-sex marriage is legal and the "law of the land," it's only a matter of time before Christian ministers may be forced to conduct same-sex weddings.  They will obviously need to change some of the wording.  I imagine the ceremony could go something like this....

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, in the face of this company, to witness this complete mockery of the institution of matrimony, which, before the Supreme Court changed the definition of marriage, was an honourable and solemn estate and is a sacred bond between one man and one woman.

If any one, besides God, can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, you MUST forever hold your peace or you will face charges for hate speech..

Do you take this person of the same sex, despite the clear command in Leviticus 18:22, which says, "Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin?"

Couple: We do because the Supreme Court said that's our right.

Will you pervert love from this day forward, forsaking God's law, keeping only to your own evil desires and shameful passions for as long as you both shall live?

Couple: We sure do, and you better not judge us!

Romans 1:26-27 says, "Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved."

With that in mind, repeat after me: With this ring, I thee fornicate.

Couple:  Yeah, yeah, with this ring, we have a right to live any way we choose.

By the undue pressure put on me by the state and federal government, I now pronounce you Sinners and an Abomination in the eyes of God.

**********

As absurd as this sounds, it's no more absurd than same-sex marriage itself.  God designed marriage to be between a man and a woman, and no Supreme Court ruling can change that.
