State of the Union

More of the same. That pretty well describes President Obama’s State of the Union address this week.

The 70-minute speech -- dull as it was -- showed Obama is hellbent on ramrodding his failed liberal policies through and making the United States a socialist nation.

The president appeared angry and arrogant as he rambled on.

He blamed George Bush again for the economic problems in the country, rebuked the Supreme Court justices sitting in front of him, vowed to change the policy to allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military and spouted off numerous lies.

It is both sad and disturbing that Obama used this forum to push his ultra-liberal agenda.

The fact is that Obama’s first year in office has been a failure.

Obama claims he saved the country from another depression. In reality, the U.S. is in a much worse condition today than it was a year ago. Unemployment has surged to near 10 percent despite the stimulus bill and corporate bailout plans.

If Obama was a good leader who genuinely cared about America, he would recognize his failures and change course by moving to the center.

Instead, he is vowing to go full steam ahead with his left-wing agenda -- no matter the cost.

That is sad. This president needs to put the best interests on the country ahead of his own. That’s not likely to happen, though.

I only hope his agenda can be stopped before the damage to the country goes too far.
