Lessons From Charlie

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has sparked a wide range of reactions.  From the hundreds of new Turning Point chapters on campuses across the country to the vile protesters who want to disrupt and silence Charlie's message, his death has left a lasting impact.

For many of us, it has caused us to reflect on our faith and challenged us to be better men and women.  It's been a wakeup call for both Christians and non-Christians.  It has caused us to look within and ask ourselves 'Are we making a difference in the lives of others the way Charlie made a difference in the lives of those around him?'

The big question we should be asking ourselves is this: "If you're not doing things that have an eternal consequence, why are you doing them?"

I saw an interview with media host Glenn Beck.  Like so many of us, Beck said Charlie's death has caused him to examine his own life and focus on what matters most.  He said we must live our lives striving to be better tomorrow than we were today.  Focus on what really matters.  Charlie did this.  He strived to be a better husband, a better father, a better man and a better Christian every day.

Beck said the only way to achieve this is to look to God and follow all His ways.  "America cannot survive... BUT GOD!!" Beck said.

He also said we have to live every single moment like it's our last moment.  We should be doing the things we want to instead of saying 'I'll get to that tomorrow.'   Like I've always said, "Do it now while you're able to do it!"  You never know when your life could take a turn and you're not able to do things you once did.

Beck said he's seen revival breaking out around the world, but it's not enough to have a revival.  There must be an awakening. "People are coming to Jesus.  It's good to come to Jesus.  But now what are you going to do with that Jesus?" he said.  Let it affect how you live day to day.  Be the person you were created to be.

We are fortunate to live at this time in history.  It is quite possible that we are the generation that will see the return of Jesus!  We've been selected to live at this time out of all the people who have ever lived on Earth so we have a responsibility to share the gospel with others.

There is no one here without a purpose.  Find your purpose.  Find out what you're supposed to be doing to build a better kingdom and do it every day.

Even if your life is cut short, like Charlie's, God can do amazing things if you yield your life to Him!
