Politickin'

For football fanatics, the Super Bowl is the highlight of the year.  For baseball enthusiasts, it's the World Series.  And for news junkies like me, the presidential primaries get our attention.  This election cycle promises to be one of the most exciting and craziest primary seasons ever.

The mudslinging has already begun.  You have Republicans attacking Republicans.  You have Democrats attacking Republicans, and you have the media attacking Republicans.

I'm a MAGA Republican.  I voted for Donald Trump twice, and I will vote for him again if he's the nominee.  That doesn't mean he's automatically my top choice.  Like 2016, there's a crowded Republican field, and there are other strong candidates running for the nomination.

Trump was a good president and did great things for the country.  When he ran the first time, his focus truly was about making America great again.  This time around, it's about making himself great again.  He's convinced that the 2020 election was stolen from him, and he's hellbent on getting another term as president.  He is so obsessed talking about the past wrongs done to him when he should be talking about the future needs of the country and how to solve them.  This country has some big problems. 

Trump is also embroiled in a legal battle that has him facing bogus charges.  He's been indicted four times and could be convicted on any or all of them, thanks to our corrupt justice system.  This battle will go all the way to the Supreme Court.

As I stated, there are other good candidates running for the Republican nomination.  Mike Pence is probably the most qualified.  He has been vice president and a governor and knows how to run the country.  I believe Pence is honest and trustworthy.  You can't say that about most politicians.  Ron DeSantis looked like he was going to be a strong challenger to Trump, but his momentum has started to stall out.  Unless he can pick up steam again, I wouldn't count on him this time.  He may be a contender in 2028 though. 

As for the Democrats, someone should tell Joe Biden that he's running for re-election.  He seems to be more interested in being on vacation.  I don't know if Biden is mentally fit to be president, but he's clearly incapable of running the country.  He's made a mess out of immigration and the border, foreign affairs and the economy.  He also has his own legal battles.  He's accused of money laundering, influence peddling and taking bribes, but, of course, the Injustice Department just ignores the whole thing.  The truth will come out eventually.

In the end, neither Biden nor Trump may win a second term in the White House.  Instead, they may be sentenced to serve terms together as cell mates.

It Takes Faith

Starting a new year is like starting a new adventure.  You're never quite sure where you'll end up or what you may encounter along the way.  You just have to step out in faith and trust God to lead the way.

It's like Abraham's journey to the Promised Land.  God told him to leave his country, his family and his father's home to go to a land that He would show him.  Abraham was 75 when he started his journey.  It was faith that made Abraham obey when God called him to go out to a country which God had promised to give him. He left his own country without knowing where he was going.  By faith, he lived as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him.

The key to Abraham's success was faith.  He trusted God to keep his promise. Though Abraham was old, the Bible says, "from this one man came as many descendants as there are stars in the sky, as many as the numberless grains of sand on the seashore."  

The key to our success is faith, too.  If we put our trust in God, He will take us to where we need to be.  We may hit some road bumps along the way but keep going.  God will take you through the hard times and carry you safely to the other side... even if He has to part the waters!

My advice to you as we start the new year is DON'T GIVE UP.  Put your faith in God and watch what He'll do in your life this year.  

It's Just A Mask

It's just a mask.

It's just the biggest con job EVER!  We, the people, were hoodwinked into thinking that everyone had to wear a mask to stop the spread of this so-called pandemic.  "It will protect others," they said.  "Follow the science," they said.  I found the scientific term for this kind of thinking.... it's HOOEY!!  I never bought into the crazy notion that a flimsy little mask is going stop the Coronavirus. 

If it makes you feel safer to wear a mask, wear it.  I don't care. If you're like me and think masks make absolutely no difference, then go ahead and ditch the mask.  The truth is it's not about "science."   It's about CONTROL  The progressive liberals want to control every aspect of our lives.

It's not just a mask.  The mask is just the beginning.   Here's something I read on the Internet, and it explains everything about where we're headed if we blindly go along with the mask mandates:

It’s just a few violent protests.

It’s just a little micro chip.

It’s just a blood test.

It’s just a scan.

 

It’s just for medical information.

It’s just to store a vaccination certificate.

It’s just like a credit card.

It’s just a few places that don’t take cash.

 

It’s just so you can travel.

It’s just so you can get your driver’s license.

It’s just so you can vote.

It’s just mail-in voting.

It’s just a few more years.

 

It’s just a statue.

It’s just a monument.

It’s just a building.

 

It’s just a song.

It’s just a lyric.

It’s just an anthem.

It’s just a TV show.

And "It's just" the way they planned it.

Can I Get An Amen?

If there was ever any doubt that Nancy Pelosi is crazy, her latest proposal proves that her only brain cell has finally died of loneliness.  It's evidence that she is denser than Sherwood Forest and that she is more twit than wit.

As speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi proposed changes to House rules to honor all "gender identities" by eliminating terms like "he and she," "mother and father" and "son and daughter."  Instead, she insists House members use only gender neutral terms like "parent," "child" and sibling."

Is that crazy or what?  It's just more of the political correctness nonsense that liberals have been trying to shove down our throats for years.  But this is just one example of the craziness of Washington hacks.

The American Dialect Society (whatever the heck that is) named "they" as the Word of the Decade.  Then there's the un-PC mother who was ridiculed online for calling Santa Claus "Father Christmas" instead of using a more gender neutral name.

But the most ridiculous example is the Missouri congressman who ended a prayer to open the new session of Congress with "amen and awoman."  If he doesn't know that "amen" is a Hebrew word that means "so be it," he must be the biggest aMoron of them all.  

 These people need a lesson is anatomy.  Or maybe they just need to read Genesis 5:2, which says God "created them male and female."  Matthew 19:4 says, "Jesus answered, "Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female."

This gender-neutral garbage needs to stop, and these people need to wise up if they don't want to end up like Nancy Pelosi, whose brainwaves are waving bye-bye, whose mental elevator only goes down and whose mental bungee cord is about to snap.

Can I get an amen?

Truth or Scare

I know coronavirus is real.  I know coronavirus is deadly.  I also know coronavirus is politically motivated and has been blown way of proportion.

As of July 10, the CDC has reported 3,106,931 coronavirus cases in the U.S.  That means only 0.94% (less than 1 percent) of Americans have even contracted the virus.  That's if you believe the numbers.

I have issues with how the cases are counted.  In some places, the numbers get inflated when a person is tested more than once.  For instance, when a person is hospitalized with the virus, that patient may be tested three or four times during his hospital stay.  Each time the test comes back positive, it is sometimes counted as a new case.  Death counts are also being fudged with people who test positive counting as COVID deaths even if they died in an accident.

Coronavirus is bad, but is it bad enough to shut down businesses, close schools and cancel many events?  That didn't happen during the H1N1 and SARS outbreaks.  So why now?

It's part of the plan to create fear in a majority of the U.S. population.  But citizens aren't afraid of the people in power who are responsible for the removal of their freedoms.  Instead, they're fearful of their friends and family.  The government has shown how easily people assimilate to "guidelines" (that have NO scientific premise whatsoever) when they are fearful.

No one wants to get sick, but most people are smart enough to take the necessary precautions. 

We don't need the government to tell us what events are acceptable or unacceptable to attend. Riots are OK, family funerals are not. Standing in a graduation line is a "safety hazard", but feel free to line up at Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot.

The government successfully dictated the closing of family-owned businesses while granting authority to large corporations that they have invested interests in.  Sen. Rand Paul said the closing of businesses did little to stop the spread of the virus but crippled the economy.  

When the economy started to bounce back too quickly, states began another round of closings in an attempt to sabotage the economic recovery and hurt President Trump's re-election chances.  It's all about politics, stupid!

Then, there's the mandates to wear masks even though the New England Journal of Medicine confirms that masks do little to nothing to prevent the spread of the virus in normal interactions. It requires a prolonged interaction to exchange the virus.  

I can't believe so many people do not question authority because they see that authority as "all knowing." It's even more terrifying that these same people rely on corrupt "leaders" to be led.

I don't want anyone to get sick or die from the virus, but there's more at stake here than our health.  Our freedoms are under attack.  I hope people remember that when they go to the polls in November.   

Good vs. Evil

If you only listen to CNN, you think Donald Trump is evil.  If you only listen to Fox, you think he's a saint.  I figure he's probably somewhere in between... Just like most politicians.

A lot of my liberal friends hate Trump.  They think everything he does is bad.  I understand how they feel.  I felt the same way about Barack Obama when he was president.  Obama wasn't all bad.  I'm sure he did some good things.  I can't think of any right now, but there must be something in the eight years he was in the White House.  There must be.

There are some people who are completely bad people.  Hitler.  Osama bin Laden.  Hillary Clinton.  These are evil people.  They're wicked to the core.  But most people have some good qualities.  That includes Donald Trump. 

I don't like everything Trump does.  Sometimes, he says and does some really dumb things.  His tweets often cross the line of decency.  Sometimes, I think "I can't believe he's the president."  But other times I'm glad he is our president.

I support Trump because he's a patriot.  He loves this country and wants to make it better.  He puts America's interests first.  He wants to protect the country by building the border wall and deporting illegals.  I support him because he supports Israel.  I support him because he's working to protect our religious freedoms.  He's working to protect our Constitution.  He's working to bring our troops back home.  He keeps his campaign promises. 

To all my Democrat friends (if I have any left), I would ask that you give the man a chance.  Good or bad, he's going to be president for five-and-a-half more years.  We survived Obama's two terms, and you'll survive Trump's two.

Another Year

I turned 51 on Saturday.  I'm thankful that I made it another year.  I view each day as a gift from God.

My life isn't perfect.  It's not about being perfect but about being the best I can be every day.  Each day is a new opportunity to become a better person and to grow. It's a chance to make a difference in someone else's life.

I like to say life is like a journey.  It's a long and winding road to reach our destination. There's many things to see along the way, but there's also some bumps in the road.  There may even be a few detours along the way.

I read some good advice from motivational speaker and syndicated columnist Rick Kraft that I wanted to share:

"Wake up each morning and tell yourself you are going to be the best version of you today. You have only a few hours to accomplish this before putting your head back on your pillow and forever closing out your day. Don’t strive to be perfect, but make good individual choices to be better than you were yesterday." 

Kraft also said, "Each day strive to improve and grow. Improve your relationships and learn something new. Use your gift set to help others to leave behind something when you are gone."

That's good advice.  I don't know what the next year will hold, but I want to make the most of each day. I want to be a better friend, a better Christian and a better person this year than I was last year.  The goal is to finish strong, and that's something I think we should all strive for.
